Love is Blind is an anamorphic sculpture that appears as a simple heart from a head-on perspective, but shifts into something far more sinister when seen from a different point of view.
It describes the act of lovebombing, a technique used in cults, by con-artists and in other toxic relationships, where love, devotion and belonging are established quickly in an overwhelming, over-the-top manner. This disarms their target, gains trust, and causes them to overlook some of the major red flags that can be observed and avoided when a healthy relationship moves more cautiously.
The heart symbol of love remains the perfect facade to the world, but to those who have moved past wilful blindness, the harm is obvious.
